Dr Southcott asked the Minister for Education, in writing, on 2 December 2008:

In respect of Australian Apprenticeships, what are the Government’s expected numbers for: (a) commencement of apprenticeships; (b) completions of apprenticeships; and (c) apprentices in training, for the (i) 2008-09, (ii) 2009-10, (iii) 2010-11, and (iv) 2011-12 financial years.

Ms Gillard (Minister for Education, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations and Minister for Social Inclusion) —The answer to the honourable member’s question is as follows:

The Government’s estimated figures for Australian Apprenticeships are:

(a)   commencement of apprenticeships

(b)   completions of apprenticeships
