Mr SPEAKER —I have received a letter from the honourable member for Hotham proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely:

The failure of the government to ensure the job security of thousands of Australian families, by introducing a new job destroying tax, doing nothing to stop the collapse of major corporations and having no strategy to keep Ansett in the air.

I call upon those members who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
