Mr BEAZLEY (Leader of the Opposition) (9:31 AM) —I move:

That so much of the standing and sessional orders be suspended as would prevent private members business notice No. 3 from being called on forthwith.

The Convention on the Rights of the Child, article 37, says this—

Motion (by Mr McGauran) put:

That the member be not further heard.

Mr Beazley —You idiots!

Mr McGauran —It is an ambush. You should have discussed it with me.

Mr SPEAKER —I doubt whether members in the chamber can even hear the question being put and may not therefore know what they are voting on. The question is that the Leader of the Opposition be not further heard.
