Mr Blunt asked the Minister for Social Security, upon notice, on 1 June 1987:

(1) How many pensioners and beneficiaries, including family allowance recipients, were in receipt of benefit in each year since 1981-82.

(2) What type of benefit were these beneficiaries receiving.


Mr Howe —The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1) and (2) The numbers of pensioners, beneficiaries and allowees in receipt of payments since 1982, and the type of payment received, are contained in the Statistical Tables of the Annual Report of the Department of Social Security for 1985-86. The latest available figures are as follows:
