(Question No. 5319)

Mr Lloyd asked the Minister for Aviation, upon notice, on 1 May 1987:

Has any of the carpet at the new Perth Airport terminal been relaid; if so, (a) why was this necessary, (b) how much was relaid and (c) what was the cost to relay the carpet.

Mr Peter Morris —The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

Approximately 2500 square metres of carpet will shortly be replaced in the International Terminal Building at Perth Airport.

The carpet supplied did not comply with pattern matching requirements.

The carpet will be replaced at no cost to the Commonwealth.
