To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled. The humble petition of the undersigned citizens of Australia respectfully showeth:

That we strenuously oppose the proposed introduction of a two dollar coin to replace the Australian two dollar note. We feel that an additional coin would not only cause additional inconvenience and confusion to the public but is totally unnecessary as we have ample coinage in circulation and we ask that the Government revise its decision to implement this currency change.

And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
