Mr BEAZLEY (Minister for Defence)(9.17) —I thank the right honourable member for New England (Mr Sinclair) for his intervention. I will take a look at his paper. The advice that comes to me in regard to this area of anomaly is that where widows of Defence Force retirement benefits pensioners marry after a time and become eligible for a special grant of pension, provided their circumstances are the same as those of the Defence Force retirement and death benefits widow and they are in `necessitous circumstances' or the benefit is `otherwise warranted', the provisions are applied beneficially. From the advice that has come to me people have not missed out on it. However, I will consider the proposition to see whether any- thing further needs to be done.
