Mr McGAURAN —My question is directed to the Minister for Science and Minister Assisting the Treasurer on Prices. I ask: Is the Minister aware that a company called Jaggard Coins (Aust) Pty Ltd had a contract to market mint coin sets? Is he also aware that Jaggard Coins was selling these sets, with a face value of $1.88, for $5.50? Is he further aware that the Government has allowed the contract to lapse and is now marketing the coins itself? Will the Minister confirm that their sale price has been marked up by 76 per cent and they are now marketed at $9.70 a set? In view of the Government's professed concern on prices, what is the Minister's explanation for this excessive price increase?

Mr BARRY JONES —It may reflect the very notable and encouraging appreciation of the Australian coinage that has been picked up on the money markets overseas. I am not aware of the particular case to which the honourable member refers. I will seek some information and provide it to the honourable member as soon as I have it.
