To The Honourable The Speaker and Members of the house of Representatives in Parliament assembled: The humble petition of the undersigned citizens of Australia showeth that they view with deep concern the desperate plight of famine victims caught in Eritrea and Tigre between the now-closed Sudanese border and the escalated bombing attacks of the Ethiopian government, and the undersigned citizens beg the Australian government with the utmost urgency to take all possible steps towards inducing the Ethiopian government to cease fire on refugees and to co-operate in facilitating aid deliveries, and the Sudanese government to re-open their border, and further that the Australian government allocate aid to the Sudan and increased aid through non-government channels to organisations engaged in relief operations in the northern regions above mentioned.

And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
