Mr KERIN (Minister for Primary Industry)(10.09) —in reply-To make this matter quite clear-some additional sentences will be added to the second reading speech delivered in the Senate-by and large, what the honourable member for Moncrieff (Mrs Sullivan) says is true. Although other industries will now be able to avail themselves of funding on a one-to-one basis, up to 0.5 per cent of the gross value of production, because there is a requirement for a levy and for collection of funds from the industry, it is quite proper and appropriate-indeed it is essential-that legislation be introduced into the Houses of Parliament in respect of any additional research funding for other industries.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
