Mr Beddall asked the Minister for Transport, upon notice, on 19 March 1985:

(1) What funds from the Australian Bicentennial Road Development Fund have been directed to the Glengallan Shire in Queensland since the scheme began.

(2) What projects have the funds been allocated to and what were the amounts.


Mr Peter Morris —The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1) An estimated $2.5 billion will be made available for roads over the life of the Australian Bicentennial Road Development Program, of which an estimated $59,535,450 will be provided for local roads in Queensland. Of that amount, 52.7 per cent will be directed to local authorities for roads under their control. Glengallan Shire's total indicative entitlement under the Bicentennial Road Program is $156,000. The amount directed to Glengallan Shire to date is $10,000.
