Madam DEPUTY SPEAKER (Mrs Child) —Mr Speaker has received a letter from the Leader of the National Party (Mr Sinclair) proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely:

The serious implications for Australia's international standing and national security of the Government's refusal to participate in research for the Strategic Defence Initiative.

I call upon those members who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
