Mr HOWARD —Mr Deputy Speaker, I seek leave to make a personal explanation.

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER (Mr Rocher) —Does the honourable member claim to have been misrepresented?

Mr HOWARD —I do. It is quite true, as the Minister for Science and Technology ( Mr Barry Jones) said, that he did use those words and in my presentation today I did omit reference to the fact--

Mr Barry Jones —And 84 different occasions as well.

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER —Order! The Deputy Leader of the Opposition does not seem to have been misrepresented.

Mr HOWARD —It is very important, with respect. The implication in the Minister's explanation that I misrepresented the thrust of his remarks is not fair. He would have to agree that in those remarks he said that governments were not game to put up taxes three months before an election. The Minister did say that.

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER —Order! This is not a general debate.
