Mr HOWARD(2.59) —I move:

That so much of the Standing and Sessional Orders be suspended as would prevent the Deputy Leader of the Opposition from moving forthwith the following motion:

That this House-

(1) condemns the intimidatory remarks of the Premier of New South Wales in relation to the evidence being given to the Senate Inquiry by Mr Clarrie Briese, the Chief Stipendiary Magistrate of New South Wales;

(2) notes with concern this further example of the Premier's increasingly irrational and improper conduct in relation to certain matters pertaining to the administration of justice in New South Wales, and

(3) expresses its concern at the implication for the administration of justice in New South Wales including those areas comprising federal jurisdiction of New South Wales courts federal from the Premier's conduct.

Mr SPEAKER —Is the motion in writing?

Mr HOWARD —The motion is in writing and is seconded by the honourable member for North Sydney.
