Mr TICKNER —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move :

That this House-

(1) notes with deep concern the eruption of renewed violence in the black South African townships;

(2) condemns the brutal use of force exercised by the South African Police Force involving gunfire, rubber bullets, teargas and whips against protestors which have resulted in the death of 29 people;

(3) supports the non-white disenfranchised South African communities demands for universal suffrage in that country;

(4) re-affirms its condemnation of the apartheid system;

(5) condemns the new constitutional arrangements which further institutionalise the system of apartheid; and

(6) calls for stronger action by the United Nations to use its influence in international fora to bring an end to apartheid in South Africa.
