Mr CONNOLLY —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That this House-

(1) calls for the resignation of the Minister for Home Affairs and Environment for his inept handling of the Daintree rainforest issue;

(2) condemns the Minister for his failure to initiate negotiations with the Queensland Government or the Douglas Shire Council since November 1983;

(3) notes that the Minister's offer of a $1 million package to Queensland is a blatant political act preceding the announcement of an early federal election; and

(4) condemns the Minister for Home Affairs and Environment and the ALP for deceiving the environmental movement and all Australians who care for the environment.
