Mr CHARLES JONES
—I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:
That the House requests the Treasurer and the Government to take note of the thousands of protest letters, including over 2,000 received by the member for Newcastle, demanding that the excise on beer not be increased.
I seek leave to table two boxes of letters I have received in support of the notice of motion.
Mr SPEAKER
—If the honourable gentleman were tabling beer, I think he would be given leave. Is leave granted for the tabling of the letters? There being no objection, leave is granted.
