Senator JENKINS —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate-

(a) notes that the Australian Government has deliberately initiated, in the name of bicentennial celebrations, events of enormous potential public hazard, namely the visit to Australian harbours, including Fremantle in Western Australia, of nuclear-armed ships from several nations;

(b) notes that, despite official Government protests to the Government of France about French nuclear testing in the region, ships of the French Navy have been included in the visiting fleet; and

(c) calls on the Government to stop all future visits by nuclear-armed or nuclear-powered vessels to Australian ports and harbours.
