Senator WITHERS (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) - My question is directed to the Leader of the Government in the Senate. It refers to the increase of 6 per cent being sought by General Motors-Holden's Pty Ltd, for car prices. As the Leader of the Government in the Senate would be aware, General MotorsHolden's Pty Ltd must justify its proposed increase before the Prices Justification Tribunal. I ask: Will Qantas Airways Ltd be required to justify the proposed 6 per cent increase in air fares which is being recommended by that well known international cartel, the International Air Transport Association?

Senator MURPHY -I am not sure of the answer to this very interesting question. I think that everyone in the community would like to see price rises contained and, particularly price rises by some substantial corporations, justified. But I am not quite sure of the answer to the honourable senator's question. I will endeavour to find out the answer for him because I am sure that everyone will be interested in it.
