Senator CAVANAGH asked the Minis ter representing the Minister for Social Services, upon notice:

(1)   During the last 3 years, how many persons have been deprived of an age pension by the operation of section 22 of the Social Services Act, and how many for each of the six causes specified in the section.

(2)   During the last 3 years, how many persons have been deprived of an invalid pension because of the operation of section 25 of the Social Services Act, and how many for each of the six causes specified in the section.

(3)   During the last 3 years, how many persons have been deprived of a widow's pension because of the operation of section 62 sub-section (1) of the Social Services Act, and how many for each of the three causes specified in the sub-section.


Senator GREENWOOD (VictoriaAttorneyGeneral) The Minister for Social Services has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question:

(1)   (2) and (3) No claims for pension have been rejected during the last 3 years under the provisions mentioned by the honourable senator.
