Senator POKE (TASMANIA) - My question is directed to the Minister representing the Minister for Primary Industry. Is it a fact that the report released yesterday by the Australian Wool Industry Conference seeking full powers of wool clip acquisition makes no reference to the possible cost of the scheme to the taxpayers? Will the cost of such a scheme be made public before the Government makes a final decision on the implementation of the scheme?

Senator COTTON - Not having seen the report or the news release which speculated on the contents of the report I am unable to say. In due course I shall see the report.

Senator Poyser - You should have read it. You are a Minister.

Senator COTTON - No doubt Senator Poyser, with his great knowledge, will nil me in on the details of it. I will then be better informed and I will try to help all honourable senators.
