Senator HENTY (TASMANIA) (Minister for Civil Aviation) - I should have thought that the honorable senator would understand the situation as a result of the debate held in this chamber last week. Under the Commonwealth legislation, the status quo is maintained in New South Wales for a period of three months for the two intrastate airlines operating in New South Wales while an examination is made of the situation on a technical basis. The Department of Civil Aviation has received the relevant figures from both affected airlines now. Last week I informed the Senate that I had received then only one set of figures. The examination is continuing and I hope that, as soon as possible, a proper re-allocation of routes will be made on a sound technical basis. That is the present position.
