SenatorCOLLETT asked the Minister representing the Minister for the Interior, upon notice -

With reference to the subject of migration, will the Minister furnish information as to -

(a)   The numbers of those aliens, rightly described us Southern Europeans, who were admitted to the Commonwealth during each of the following years- 1930, 1931, 1932, 1933, 1934, 1935, 1930 and the first half of 1937?

(b)   Under what general conditions they were admitted?

(c)   The number of Southern Europeans naturalized during each of the years mentioned above?

(d)   The number of Southern Europeans, naturalized and unnaturalized, who left Australia during the same period?

(e)   The excessof departures from Australia, over arrivals, of members of the British race during the years 1930,1931, 1932, 1933, 1934, 1935. 1936 and the first half of 1937?

(f)   The main contributing cause of such excess of departures over arrivals?
