Senator COLLINGS (QUEENSLAND) - I ask the Minister representing the Prime Minister (1) Has the Prime Ministerseen the report in the daily press to- the effect that the Prime Minister of New Zealand said on Wednesday last that the nest major problem which the Government of New Zealand would study would be the national health and insurance scheme, which would definitely be introduced next year? (2) Will the- Government consider the introduction of a national health and insurance scheme for Australia?

Senator Sir GEORGE PEARCE - I have already stated that the matter is now the subject of intensive study. Weare awaiting reports from twoexperts who have been brought out from Great Britain to advise on a scheme for Australia
