Senator E B JOHNSTON (WESTERN AUSTRALIA) asked the Minister representing the Minister for Defence, upon notice -

1.   Has the attention of the Government been drawn to statements made by Major Brackley of Imperial Airways, condemning Darwin as unsuitable for a seaplane base?

2.   If so, will the Government review the claims of Wyndham as a seaplane base, and as the main air port of entry for Northern Australia?

3.   If not, why not?

Senator Sir GEORGE PEARCE - The Minister for Defence advises that a reply will be furnished to the honorable senator as soon as possible.
