Senator DUNCAN (New South Wales) . - Upon certain items of the Tariff it cannot be said that Australia is offering very much encouragement to trade with New Zealand. It has been pointed out more than once that the intermediate rates afford opportunities for entering upon reciprocal arrangements with our sister Dominion, as well as with other countries. Here, however, the proposed rates are all the same. We import large quantities of New Zealand timber. Why has no provision been made for reciprocity ?
