Senator PEARCE (Western Australia) (Minister for Defence) . - I do not know whether Senator Senior is engaging in the delightful occupation of trying to draw me; but I recollect that only last night he gave us a most illuminating address, in which he showed that a wide variety of articles could be made from certain clays in South Australia. He has evidently forgotten what he told the Committee last night. Insulators and electrical fittings used as porcelain nonconductors, as well as dishes of various kinds, which are made from the clays to which the honorable senator referred, are covered by this item. Various byproducts, such as " Clever Mary " and face powders, are produced by the industry, which is well established, not ' only in South Australia, but throughout the Commonwealth.
