Senator FINDLEY (VICTORIA) (Ministerwithout portfolio) - The answers to the honorable senator's questions are : -

1.   Special trains with English mails- are not run to Brisbane.. Those from Adelaide to Melbourne and Sydney are run under agreement with the Railway Commissioners at the rate of 7s. 6d. per mile.

2.   They are run between Melbourne and Syd ney in connexion with every English mail, but between Adelaide and Melbourne. . only ' when mails reach Adelaide too late to come forward by the express.

3.   About £186 for a train from Adelaide to Melbourne, and about £218 for a train from Melbourne to Sydney. By. the PostmasterGeneral's Department.

4.   The Postmaster-General has no knowledge of the. arrangements regarding passengers.
