Dr PATTERSON (Dawson) (Minister for Northern Development and Minister for the Northern Territory) -On behalf of the committee appointed to draw up reasons for the House disagreeing to the amendments of the Senate, I bring up such reasons. (Thereupon the Clerk read the reasons as follows)-

Because the Bill was a complementary set of arrangements for the industry.

By varying some aspects others are affected and weakened.

The Government believes that the Bill should stand as printed.

Motion (by Dr Patterson) agreed to:

That the committee 's reasons be adopted.
