Mr SPEAKER -I have received the following letter:

Dear Mr Speaker,

I want to say how sorry 1 am for my conduct in the Press gallery this afternoon and to express my deep and sincere regrets. Mr Speaker, I apologise unreservedly to you and to the House for an impulsive remark. I assure you of my highest regard for the House and all it stands for.

Yours sincerely. Alan Ramsey

Dr Patterson - Mr Speaker, may I have your indulgence to ask whether Mr Ramsey's pass has been restored or is the position still as you stated it to be this afternoon?

Mr SPEAKER - The situation is that Mr Ramsey will still be entitled to go into the Press Gallery.
