Mr Uren n asked the Minister representing the Minister for Customs and Excise, upon notice -

1.   What goods are imported from Southern Rhodesia?

2.   What was the total value of imports from that country during each of the last three financial years?

Mr Fairhall - The Minister for Customs and Excise has furnished the following answer to the honorable member's questions -

Details of imports from Southern Rhodesia have been recorded separately only for the year 1964-65. Prior to that year trade with Southern Rhodesia was recorded against the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland.

The goods imported from Southern Rhodesia during 1964-65 included unmanufactured tobacco, chrome ore, ferro-chromium and other ferro alloys and to a lesser extent asbestos, unwrought refined copper and cobalt and cobalt-base alloys.

The total value of imports for the years 1962-63 to 1964-65 was-
