Mr CONELAN (GRIFFITH, QUEENSLAND) - Is the Minister representing the Minister for Supply and Shipping aware that during the recent dispute over the double dumping of wool some returned soldier members of the waterside workers organization in Queensland unloaded two ships, Murada and Macedon, which were carrying perishable goods? such as apples and potatoes? The goods would have been lost otherwise. The shipowners have refused to pay the men for the work they did. Will the Minister inform me whether it is the responsibility of the shipowners or the Government, to pay the men?

Mr Anthony - Did they not raid the ships?

Mr CONELAN - They saved the goods.
