Mr FALSTEIN (Watson) .- I find difficulty in understanding the purpose of the amendment. The intention of the Minister is abundantly clear. What I also find difficult to understand is when desertion shall be deemed to have taken place. Will that date be when legal proceedings for maintenance orders were instituted, or will it be some other date which may be fixed as between the parties.

Mr Rosevear - The pension will become payable six months after a wife has been deserted.

Mr FALSTEIN - But how will that date be determined?
