Mr WARD (EAST SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for Labour and National Service) - I have just received the report of the honorable member for Hunter (Mr. James) on this subject, but have not yet had an opportunity to examine it thoroughly. However, I know that it indicates that trouble is likely at the colliery unless prompt action be taken by the Government, The matter is now receiving attention. The nationalization of the coal-mining industry is obviously a matter for decision by the Government as a whole and not for any individual Minister. The suggestion that regulations should be issued at once to obviate the possibility of any trouble will receive my immediate attention.
