Mr FRANCIS (MORETON, QUEENSLAND) - Although reservesof coal are not so satisfactory as the emergency demands, miners in Queensland are not fully employed and are anxious to make a maximum contribution to the war effort. In those circumstances, will the Minister for Supply and Development further examine whether coal fromQueenslandcan be used in the war effort? if the number of miners in the southern States is not adequate to meet the demand for coal, or if some of them are not desirous of doing their job, will the Minister communicate with the Queensland Colliery Employees Union with a view to ascertaining whether Queensland miners can be despatched to New South Wales or elsewhere for the purpose of assisting in the production of coal?
