Mr Green n asked the Acting Treasurer, upon notice -

1.   Do the Commonwealth Bank authorities grant licences to gold buyers?

2.   If not, by whom are the licences granted?

3.   What are the conditions under which an applicant is granted a licence?

4.   Is there any restriction to the lowest price that may be paid by a gold buyer to the gold producer below the price paid by the Commonwealth Bank ? 5 If so, what is the minimum amount that the buyer would have to pay to purchase gold quoted attoday's approximate price of £A1011s. per oz. less the excise, reducing it to £A9 15s.6d. per oz.?

6.   Does the payment of only £A8 per oz. come within the scope of profiteering?

7.   If a specific case of this kind is submitted to the Minister, will ho be prepared to receive representations in the matter?
