Sir FREDERICK STEWART (PARRAMATTA, NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for Health) - Presumably when the honorable member speaks about the cost of national insurance, he means the cost of preliminary investigations to date. On that assumption I can only say that, as only two or three days have elapsed since I invited, from the appropriate bodies, claims in respect of their expenditure in this direction, and have not yet received one reply, it is perfectly obvious that any published estimate of the- total cost is pure speculation. There is no information yet available as to the total actual expenditure in -connexion with national insurance.
