Dr EARLE PAGE (Cowper) . - There is a good deal in the suggestion of the honorable member for Dalley (Mr. Rosevear), that somethingshould be put into the bill to protect the interests of the taxpayers. Why cannot a provision be inserted in this bill similar to section 15 c of the Commonwealth Bank Act, which reads that -

The Governor, the Deputy-Governor, a director or a member of the London Board shall be deemed to have vacated hie office if-

(c)   being a director he absents himself (except on leave granted by the Governor-General ) from all meetings of the board held during two consecutive months or during any three months in any period of twelve months

A similar provision could be put in this bill, and I urge the Postmaster-General to agree to its insertion. This is a reasonable request.
