Mr NAIRN (PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA) asked the Treasurer, upon notice -

1.   Does the State Income Tax Commissioner of New South Wales collect by arrangement, on behalf of the Commonwealth, the federal income tax payable by New South Wales residents and/or taxpayers to the Commonwealth?

2.   What was the amount so collected during the last financial year?

3.   At what periods does the State Commissioner account to the Commonwealth?

4.   In view of the wilful defaults of the Government of New South Wales, is it intended to continue this arrangement?
