Mr NELSON asked the Minister for Works and Railways, upon notice -

1.   Will he inform the House when the report of the Works Committee on Darwin wharf and harbour improvements will ho made available?

2.   In view of the fact that there are hundreds of unemployed in the Northern Territory, (a) will he recommend the immediate commencement of that portion of the railway that has been permanently surveyed, i.e.. from Katherine to Mataranka: and (b) to facilitate the relief to the unemployed, will he give instructions for the earthwork to be done by the Commissioner on day labour?

3.   Is it -true that, in spite of the fact that the foreman of the Katherine bridge job has been at Katherine for many months, he has not sufficient tools available to start the men?

4.   Will the Minister give instructions that the practice of bringing unskilled men from the South be discontinued till such times as the local unemployed are absorbed?
