Mr TUDOR (Yarra) .- While agreeing with some of the names suggested by the Minister, and with the desirability of adhering to native names wherever possible, I do not think it wise to change the proposed name of " Clifton Hill " to "Batman." There is no State electorate of the name of Clifton, although there is a division of Clifton in the State electorate of Fitzroy. As it is proposed to change from one English name to that of one of the early settlers, it would be as well to retain the name by which the district is known. The electorate which it is proposed to call " Batman " consists of Jika Jika, and part of Fitzroy, and the whole of the Collingwood electorate.
