Senator Douglas McClelland (NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for the Media) - As I said when I spoke to the point of order the Government is keen to have this legislation passed this evening. I have had discussions with my colleague the Minister for Education (Mr Beazley). All I need say is that I understand the Opposition offers no objection to the passage of the legislation.

Senator Rae - We support it.

Senator Douglas McClelland (NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for the Media) - Indeed, as Senator Rae says, his Party supports the legislation. All I can say in reply to his remarks is that I do not agree with the contentions he has put forward.
