Senator GUILFOYLE (Victoria) - The Opposition foreshadowed an amendment to clause 33 by omitting sub-clauses (2) , (3) and (4). As a result of the discussions in Committee which took place yesterday it will not proceed with the amendment. The Opposition will not be opposing clause 33.

Senator Douglas McClelland (NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for the Media) - Do I understand from what Senator Guilfoyle now says that opposition to clause 33 in toto no longer exists and that the Opposition agrees to the inclusion of clause 33.(1), (2), (3) and (4)?

Senator GUILFOYLE - Yes. The Opposition had indicated a desire to omit sub-clauses (2), (3) and (4). It will not proceed with the proposed amendment and will be supporting clause 33 as printed.
