Senator DRURY (SOUTH AUSTRALIA) - Can the PostmasterGeneral say whether any provisions are available to enterprises or individuals who wish to advertise in a foreign language in the pink pages of telephone directories, and so provide a useful facility to the migrant population of Australia?

Senator BISHOP -The Post Office encourages advertisers whose business requirements necessitate special entry in the directories for people who are of foreign birth. While the demand is not great at the present time, the Department wishes all advertisers to know that provided there is an English translation with the advertisements, such advertisements in the pink pages could well be encouraged in their own interests and in the interests of the Post Office.
