Senator WRIEDT (Tasmania) (Minister for Primary Industry) - I thought I had answered that question when I replied to Senator Sim. My understanding is that the legislation would not affect the case. In fact, I think that the Taiwan owners involved in both the Darwin and Perth cases were present at the court. I cannot see, on the basis of the advice available to me, that this legislation will affect materially any claims that are made by the owners of vessels from foreign countries with which we do not have diplomatic relations.
