Senator GUILFOYLE (VICTORIA) -I direct a question to the Minister for Primary Industry. I refer to the recently announced 3-year agreement for the sale of wheat to China. Can the Minister advise the currency in which this sale was arranged? I also seek information about the price negotiations which relate to the second and third years of this agreement. What is the basis of the contract?

Senator WRIEDT - The arrangement that has been entered into between Australia and China is the responsibility of the Minister for Overseas Trade; it is not my responsibility. I cannot answer the first part of the honourable senator's question. I can answer the second part of the question only in the broad. The price will be negotiated annually, depending on the world market price obtaining at the time. But in order to get the more precise details, I will have to refer the matter to the Minister for Overseas Trade.
