Senator KEEFFE (QUEENSLAND) - My question, addressed to the Attorney-General, is supplementary to that asked by Senator

Wriedt. Is the Minister aware of allegations that a training camp similar to that outlined by Senator Wriedt is alleged to have existed in Queensland for the training of terrorists? Can he make the same denial or elaborate further on whether in fact this camp exists?

Senator GREENWOOD - This is another of the canards which are thrown up from time to time. If what the honourable senator refers to is the allegation of a training camp being held at Mackay, that allegation has been made and has been searched out by the Commonwealth police. On the information that the police have given to me there is absolutely no truth in the statement. That also is an answer which has been given to an honourable member in another place who asked the question.
