Senator YOUNG - My question is addressed to the Minister representing the Minister for the Interior. Is it a fact that the Australian News and Information Bureau, which does such an excellent job in promoting Australia overseas through its publicity and public relations, has representatives in every State except South Australia? Can the Minister say whether consideration is being given to the appointment of representatives of the News and Information Bureau in South Australia? If this is so, will he use every endeavour to expedite this matter and give his support to the appointment of such officers in South Australia?

Senator COTTON - I am familiar with the work of the ANIB overseas and I have been a great admirer of what the Bureau has done in promoting the Australian image and providing information on Australia in other countries. I think that the Bureau has done first class work and also a lot for this country. I do not know what the representation is in the individual States but I certainly agree that South Australia has many charms to sell overseas. Accordingly, 1 support the proposition.
