Senator A J McLACHLAN (SOUTH AUSTRALIA) (Postmaster-General) . - The observations that I made earlier on this subject were inspired by serious considerations. I regret that I cannot give the honorable senator such a definite assurance as he desires, but I shall convey his request to the Minister for Trade and Customs (Mr. White). As I have been able to discuss the amendment with my colleague for only a couple of minutes, I am not able to say whether he is prepared to review the whole subject when the next tariff schedule is under consideration. If he does not do so, however, the honorable senator will still be able to move a similar amendment when the item is next before the committee.
