Senator HOARE (South Australia) . - I should like to mention that on Saturday last I visited the President of the Senate (Senator Newlands), who has been ill for some time, and I am glad to be able to inform honorable senators that he is making good progress. He is able to get up daily and take gentle walking exercise in his garden. From the progress he is making, Mrs. Newlands is hopeful that he will be sufficiently recovered to take part in the ceremony at the opening of Parliament at Canberra.

Honorable Senators. - Hear, hear!
